po has two common worlds: spread all over (locative) and go fetch / go for (accusative).

po ima dva česta sveta: rasuto po površini (lokativ) i ići po nešto (akuzativ).

Same noun, different job: Otišla je po tortu vs Razmazala je krem po torti. Pisala je po svesci vs Otišla je po svesku.

po + šećerfetch sugar / on sugar	Otišao sam po šećer. I went to get sugar.	Posuo sam orahe po šećeru. I added walnuts over the sugar.
po + sveskafetch notebook / write on it	Otišla je po svesku. She went to get a notebook.	Pisala je po svesci. She was writing all over the notebook.
po + knjigefetch books / on table	Idem po knjige. I'm going to get the books.	Knjige su razbacane po stolu. Books are scattered on the table.
po + hleberrand / on bread	Idem po hleb. I'm going to get bread.	Namazao sam krem po hlebu. I spread cream all over the bread.
